What is Digital Marketing
Digital marketing, according to Wikipedia is the component of marketing that uses the Internet and online-based digital technologies such as desktop computers, mobile phones, and other digital media and platforms to promote products and services.
A classic example of digital marketing is what you see me doing on two of my Social media accounts. Digital marketing is used to promote both a physical product or a digital product. A lot of business use digital marketing to promote and sell their products and services online especially on social media because millions of people use social media.
What is a Digital Product?
Digital goods or e-goods are intangible goods that exist in digital form. Examples are:
Wikipedia articles;
Digital media, such as:
- e-books.
- downloadable music
- internet radio
- internet television and streaming media
- fonts
- logos
- photos and graphics
- digital subscriptions;
- online ads (as purchased by the advertiser); internet coupons;
- electronic tickets;

What is a Template?
The term template, when used in the context of word processing software, refers to a sample document that has already some details in place; those can (that is added/completed, removed or changed, differently from a fill-in-the-blank of the approach as in a form) either by hand or through an automated iterative process, such as with a software assistant. Once the template is completed, the user can edit, save and manage the result as an ordinary word processing document. Word processing templates enable the ability to bypass the initial setup and configuration time necessary to create standardized documents such as a resume.

This online business that I do involves the buying and selling of digital products specifically ebook, templates and courses. Most of these products come with two licenses, the Master Resell Rights (MRR) and Private Label Rights (PLR) License.
- The MRR license gives you the right to resell the product right away without making any change to it and reselling it to keep 100% profits.
- The PLR License gives you the right to edit and rebrand the product before reselling it to keep 100% profits. You can edit details of an eBook such as the title and the cover design, the contacts details of the seller and any information you come across as irrelevant for your specific target audience.
The benefits of MRR & DFY products
They are an all done for you product which means they are suitable for the busy bees who do not have time on their hands to do the research and build an eBook from scratch. As a student, purchasing a PLR and MRR product was the best option for me because the only thing I did after purchasing was edit, rebrand, own it, and sell it as my own. After editing and designing in Canva, you can decide on how much you would like to price your product at and can go ahead and create videos to promote and sell your products online through your social media account.
The secret in selling anything is not the price or the product but your strategies and value you give to your audience.
Once someone approaches you to purchase, you provide your account details and get them to purchase via SMS or internet banking transfer or if you have visa card you can link it with PayPal and they can purchase directly online.
You confirm that the payment is received before going ahead and sharing the file with them via email or WhatsApp. This is what makes this business mobile and can be operated anywhere. But if you have shop launch than they can pay through using their visa card online.
What about online payment using visa card you may ask?
For your customers to purchase your product online using their visa card, you as the business owner need to be connected to an internet payment gateway (IPG) like PayPal or Stripe.
We know that in Papua New Guinea, you may have a PayPal account but will only send it and receive it online but not in our bank.
Kina Bank has an IPG you can apply for and BSP has BSP Pay.
But you will need to be a registered entity to apply for these services.
If you want to go global, then create a PayPal account and link your Visa with it and the money you get, you can reinvest into big courses or buy multimillionaire products online and be the next inspiration to our nation.
I sold within PNG and global so every payments I get globally, I reinvest to again for more knowledge and what I gain locally in PNG I spent it on my daily activities.
So, visa card is not necessary when starting out but if you have one then it’s good when your business start to reach huge audience.
What about an online Shop?
Subscribing to an online shop like Stan Store, Etsy, Gumroud and some other online shop is quite expensive.
Shopify system.io and payhip is cheaper and also you can use website to publish your products like Canva site if you want to, but for me I used payhip and system.io because I need savings, and get payed in US$ and also it's free for life no credit card needed.
And what I like about this business is that you don’t need an online shop if you want too, than free website hosted by Canva is sufficient.
Otherwise you can use payhip because it's free and your products layout will look professional.
All you need is to display your products and asked your customers if they can pay online, if not than reach out to them and submit your account details.
Note: Payhip is your landing page that you'll only need it to display your products.
How much can I make a day?
This business is not a get rich quick scheme so do not think that you will become rich overnight. It is just like any other business that requires some effort and commitment if you are desperate for results and that’s why having the right mindset plays a vital role in this. Say you purchase the digital marketing business guide for k50 and after editing and rebranding you set your own price to k40.
You then go ahead and do some research on how create content that can help you sell your product quickly. Using your research, you start creating videos to reach your target audience and soon people start contacting you to buy your product. 10 people make a purchase, and you make K400. Another 10 people purchase, and you make another K400.
Unlike physical products, digital products never run out so the K50 you spent to make that one-time purchase gave you that opportunity to generate income continuously which is why I love what I do.
Even if I do not make 10 sales, making at least 1 or 2 sales still puts money into my pocket because this business is not for short term but benefits you over a long term.
